Best licence fee excuses animated by Dundee students

Some of the oddest excuses for not having a TV Licence have been brought to life in animations from Dundee art students.

One excuse featured a man claiming he was the King of Scotland so exempt from paying

The students at Duncan of Jordanstone created the animations as part of a UK wide competition, with excuses ranging from their cat being in labour to a man claiming he was the King of Scotland, so was exempt from paying.

Video styles include raps and a increasingly frustrated officer making his way from London, to the wild Highlands to have a door slammed in his face.

The licence fee is currently £145.50 per year for households who watch or record live television.

Watching television without a licence can result in a fine of up to £1,000.

The students of Duncan of Jordanstone are the only Scottish students taking part and are competing against Middlesex University, University of West England, University of Bristol, University of Derby and Ulster University.

Prizes will be awarded for the people’s choice and the judges’ award, made by a panel of animation industry experts.
