Mackie’s grows crisp supply deal with Asda
The firm – a joint venture between Aberdeenshire-based ice-cream manufacturer Mackie’s of Scotland and Perthshire potato farmers the Taylor family – also ready sells its haggis and cracked black pepper variety across Scotland and overseas. The UK-wide listing with Asda will now see the “iconic” flavour stocked in 226 stores.
Managing director George Taylor said: “We are very proud of our unique Scottish flavours, which receive fantastic feedback from all around the world.”

Hide AdAsda started stocking Mackie’s crisps last year and they are now available in 122 branches. The extended distribution, which kicks off on Sunday, will add a further 104 stores and sees the launch of “ridge cut” varieties into 44 Scottish outlets.
Susanna Hassard, Asda’s regional grocery and produce buyer, said: “It’s clear there is an appetite for the taste of Scotland across the Border.”
