Gill handed top role at RHASS

THE new chairman designate of the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS) is William Gill, of Rosskeen, Invergordon, who will take over as society chairman in July 2014.

Gill, a Fellow of the Royal Agricultural Societies, is currently convener of the RHASS development and general purposes committee.

The society also announced that Borders farmer Allan Murray, of Redden, Kelso, has been re-elected for a second year of his term as chairman.

For 2013-14 the presidency of the RHASS will be held by the Perth area which encompasses Angus, Fife and Perth, with James Ramsay, the 17th Earl of Dalhousie, as president.
