Brewer and distiller Eden Mill, which produces beer, gin and whisky, will open its doors to 1,000 workers from across the sector this summer to give them an insight into the trade.

Owner Paul Miller said: “We have had great feedback from local trade customers as to how our tours have added to their knowledge and enthusiasm for Scottish crafted products, so it seemed a logical step to extend the offer to staff in the wider Scottish trade.”

On a visit to Eden Mill, Salmond said the move was “a great idea, which will surely reap rewards for the business”.

He added: “It’s a fantastic case of a fast-growing young Scottish business with clear potential to grow its domestic and overseas markets.”
