Coronavirus in Scotland: Three more deaths and 221 new cases recorded in last 24 hours

Speaking at a coronavirus briefing on Tuesday, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon announced that in the last 24 hours three more people had died from coronavirus and 221 new cases had been recorded.

With today’s new cases, since the start of the pandemic, a total of 222,382 people have tested positive for coronavirus.

Yesterday 133 people were in hospital with Covid-19 which was a decrease of 21 from the figure reported the day before, and 20 people were in intensive care, which is a decrease of one from the figure reported the day before.

A total of 2,682,706 people have received their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine and 605,126 have received their second dose.

13,983 people received their first dose yesterday, and 14,952 people received their second dose.

With the additional three deaths recorded today, the total death toll in Scotland since the start of the pandemic is 7,633.
