It is worth noting that the daily figure of people who have died from covid-19 can often be artificially low on a Monday as many registry offices are closed on the weekend.

Since the start of the pandemic, the total number of people who have died from coronavirus in Scotland is sitting at 7,552.

In total, 359 new cases of covid-19 were recorded in the last 24 hours.

10,759 were carried out and of these, 3.7 per cent were positive.

33 people were in intensive care with recently confirmed covid-19 yesterday, and 353 people in total were in hospital with the virus.

As of 7.30am today 2,182,400 people had received the first dose of the covid-19 vaccination and 225,096 had received their second dose.
