Coronavirus in Scotland: 715 new cases of COVID-19 reported as hospital numbers rise

A total of 715 new cases of coronavirus have been reported since yesterday, new figures show today.

At today’s Scottish Government Briefing, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon also said that 715 new cases of COVID-19 reported, down from 827 the previous day.

There have been no new deaths reported since yesterday, however with registration offices closed at weekends, the figure is expected to be artificially low.

Ms Sturgeon said that 34 people who have tested positive have died since Friday.

1,141 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19, an increase on 9 from the day before.

99 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed COVID-19 99, which is unchanged.
