Celtic will make 'very late' call on James Forrest given magnitude of Rangers clash

The 29-year-old midfielder in nursing a hamstring strain picked up in the 6-0 win over Livingston last weekend.

Forrest scored in that match and showed glimpses of being back to his best following a long-term ankle injury in what was his first league start for six months.

However, it is touch-and-go whether he will be fit enough to play at Ibrox.

“He’s came on reasonably well in the week,” said Celtic interim manager John Kennedy. “We got a bit of work in to him yesterday and he had a down day today just to recover. We’ll have a go at him tomorrow to see where he’s at.

"It’ll be a very late call but just in the position we are in, the magnitude of the game we’ll give it as long as we can and make our decision late on that.”
