Celtic to delay deal decision on French forward following fortnight trial - reports

Celtic will continue to monitor Airdrie’s attacking midfielder Thomas Robert after the Frenchman completed a two-week trial, according to reports.

The Diamonds have been out of action since January in the League One and Two suspension imposed by the Scottish Football Association in January – but Robert spent a fortnight training at Lennoxtown recently.

The Frenchman, who has a famous father in former Newcastle and Paris Saint-Germain winger Laurent Robert, performed well on his trial, website Football Insider says, and Parkhead bosses will continue to track his progress for the remainder for the season while considering whether or not to strike a deal for the Frenchman.

Both Old Firm sides have been linked with the 20-year-old during the past season, who has also attracted interest from Dundee United, Aberdeen and clubs in England.
