Crystal Palace midfielder James McCarthy has been linked with a move to his boyhood heroes having come through the youth system at Hamilton Accies and spent time at Wigan and Everton before moving to Selhurst Park in 2019.

The 30-year-old has 42 caps for his country but has played just eight times for the Eagles this season and is out of contract in the summer. However, he has plenty of suitors with Bournemouth, Brighton, Burnley, West Brom, and West Ham all keen to add the Glasgow-born player to their ranks.

Attacking intent

Meanwhile, Tom Ince is also on the club's radar as they look to bolster their attacking options. The 28-year-old son of former England and Manchester United midfielder Paul is currently with Stoke City but has spent time with Blackpool, Crystal Palace, Hull City, Nottingham Forest, Derby, and Huddersfield since leaving Liverpool in 2011.

He has netted nine times for the Potters since joining the club in 2018 but has been in and out of the squad this term. He hasn't featured since December 29 when he came on as a substitute in a 1-1 draw at home to Nottingham Forest and he has played trhe full 90 minutes just once, in a goalless draw against Queen's Park Rangers at Loftus Road in mid-December.

Primarily used as a right winger, Ince can also operate as a No.10 or on the opposite flank.
