A cryptic tweet from Sky Sports pundit Micah Richards has Celtic fans wondering whether their club are about to announce Roy Keane as the next manager.

The Irishman dropped to odds-on favourite with the majority of bookmakers last night, fuelling speculation he was on the verge of becoming Neil Lennon’s successor at the Glasgow giants.

Richards has since added fuel himself with a tweet sent on Thursday afternoon. The former Manchester City defender, who works alongside Keane on Sky Sports’ Premier League coverage, simply tweet a .GIF of the character Michael Scott (played by Steve Carrell) from the US version of sitcom The Office shouting ‘Oh, my god, okay it’s happening’.

This led many Celtic supporters online to believe Richards was hinting at his friends imminent arrival at Parkhead.

@kianmcgrath03 responded: “Don't be about Keane please.”

While @TCCSC93 pleaded: “Micah, please confirm that this is some sort of sick joke that was done to wind all of us up please?”
