Wood Group taps into Australian water sector

Wood Group has been awarded a US$145 million (£109m), three-year contract extension by Melbourne Water to ­provide services across their operations in Australia.

The deal will see the Aberdeen-headquartered firm continue to deliver mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, process control and civil maintenance services to Melbourne’s water and sewage transfer and treatment facilities.

Wood Group has 19 years’ experience delivering maintenance services to the water and waste-water sector in Australia and has been working with Melbourne Water since 2012.

The current contract involves about 250 people across a broad range of functions.
