Video lures the radio sales star

PAMELA Richardson is swapping radio’s musical airwaves for the bright lights of television after moving from Capital FM to STV.

No more Jessie J and Lady Gaga tunes on Des and Jennie’s breakfast show for Richardson, who instead will be taking on the role of sales director for the Taggart and Underbelly broadcaster.

Richardson will have responsibility for co-ordinating the firm’s direct client and agency account teams north of the Border.

STV also unveiled Kris Yule as its digital sales manager for Scotland. The company’s digital revenues rose by 70 per cent in 2011 and Yule will take on the task of “monetising” its digital inventory.

Bright and solid move for Telfer

STICKING with the media, and Dundee-based Friends Reunited owner Brightsolid has once again turned to the Saltire Foundation in its search for business talent.

The company, run by dot.com pioneer Chris van der Kuyl, hired Peter Telfer as its marketing executive to support growth plans and help to identify new product and market opportunities.

A Strathclyde University business school graduate, Telfer joins Brightsolid having previously worked for John McGlynn’s Airlink Group, which has grown from running car parks into property management. Telfer was also part of the Saltire Foundation’s undergraduate programme in 2009, working in Dubai for two months for the Jumeirah Hospitality Group.

Brightsolid is an active supporter of the Saltire Foundation, having already recruited two key members of its team from the fellowship programme.

This summer, it will also be hosting a Saltire undergraduate for a two-month internship.
