TV chance for young writers

THREE graduates of Glasgow Caledonian University have been hired by television production company Shed Media to write for the BBC series Waterloo Road.

Stuart Hill, Lissa Tognini and Chris Willshaw will help pen scripts for Waterloo Road Reunited, an online spin-off from the series about school teachers.

Shed founder Eileen Gallagher and creative director Ann McManus set up the university's masters course in TV fiction writing to help train new talent for the industry. Students graduating from the course will also receive one year's representation by literary agency McFarlane Chard under a deal unveiled yesterday.
