Tubular Bells deal is music to Wood’s ear

ALLIANCE Engineering, one of energy service heavyweight Wood Group’s American subsidiaries, has won a contract to design an oil rig for the Gulf of Mexico.

The rig will be used in the Mississippi Canyon area to produce oil and gas from the Tubular Bells field, which is owned by Hess and Chevron.

The Gulfstar Spar platform, which will be used on the site, is owned by Williams Partners. Edmund Lunde, president of Alliance, said: “We are confident Williams, Hess and Chevron will benefit from our focus, skill, and experience.”
