Trio of categories added to Scottish digital tech awards

A hat trick of new categories has been added to what is billed as Scotland’s digital technology equivalent of the Oscars, set to take place on 20 April in Glasgow.

The ScotlandIS Digital Technology Awards 2016 are open for entries, with the new accolades including CEO of the year, and best education provider/training programme to honour work in fostering digital technology skills.

Trade body ScotlandIS and award sponsors The Data Lab have also introduced a category for best transformational innovation through data.

The awards are now in their sixth year, and Polly Purvis, chief executive of ScotlandIS, said: “Last year was our biggest event so far and I am hoping that, with our industry going from strength to strength, we will see even more competition this time round.”

Martin Mutch, an investor, adviser and former chief executive of IT services business Rocela, will chair this year’s ten-judge panel. Previous winners include Skyscanner and Fanduel.
