Tosh's Discovery of new heights

KEN Tosh is set to scale new heights after being appointed as the contracts manager at Montrose-based Discovery Roofing.

Tosh, who previously worked for Muirfield Contracts in Dundee, will lead the site operatives and technical department.

Discovery Roofing was recently acquired by Derek Wann and Jamie Tosh - Ken's son - when the previous owner retired.

Staying in the North-East and three high-profile energy industry figures have been elected as directors to the board of Aberdeen Renewable Energy Group (AREG) by its member companies.

Nial McCollam, vice-president of alternative energy and technology global at Senergy, and Allan MacAskill, SeaEnergy Renewables' business development director, have been re-elected. They will be joined by new board member Kevin Moran, strategy and business development director at Wood Group Renewable Energy.

Morag McCorkindale, chief operating officer at AREG, said: "We are truly delighted to have attracted three renowned industry figures, and I have every confidence that Allan, Nial and Kevin will each bring great strengths to the board.

"Together, their collective talents, knowledge and passion for renewable energy will prove invaluable to the group as we endeavour to build Aberdeen's credentials as a global energy hub."

AREG has also welcomed seven new members in as many weeks and now represents more than 165 companies.

The latest recruits include Chubb Fire, Dron & Dickson, Enterprising Engineering Services, Kongsberg Maritime, law firm McGrigors, Solstad Offshore and W3G Marine.
