Third of companies to hire more staff

Nearly a third of UK firms plan to recruit more staff this year – twice as many as in 2009, a survey suggested today.

Around 28 per cent of companies said they would increase their headcounts during the coming 12 months, with 15 per cent planning significant increases, according to accountancy firm PwC.

The situation is a marked turnaround from last year, when just 13 per cent said they planned to take on more staff.
