Tax expert steps up to boardroom role with Global Energy

Global Energy Group has bolstered its board with the appointment of former Ernst & Young tax expert James MacDonald as a director.

Hailing from the Black Isle, MacDonald worked for the accountancy giant in Inverness for 22 years. He worked closely with energy contracting and service company Global from its formation in 2005.

Roy MacGregor, chairman of Global, says: "Over the years as we have grown from a 15 million company to a 200m company we have highly valued the expert advice and guidance James has given us.

"So we are delighted that he has agreed to join us and bring his experience and expertise to the Global team as we continue to develop."

Meanwhile, Aberdeen-based Deep Casing Tools has appointed Stuart Ferguson to its board.

Described as a "respected industry leader", Ferguson currently advises a number of oilfield technology companies and investment companies. Until recently, he was a senior vice-president at Weatherford International.
