Survey on the menu: Restaurant is latest contract

A QUANTITY surveying firm in Aberdeen has notched up a hat-trick of high-profile contracts, including work on Jamie Oliver’s restaurant, due to open in Union Street.

McLeod & Aitken is also working on a new head office for Ace Winches near Turriff and a students’ hall of residence for Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen. The three projects are worth more than £70 million.

Managing director Chris Milne said the firm’s headcount had grown from 34 to 41 in the past year.

“These high-profile projects are key wins in the construction sector and are themselves significant developments for the North-east, bringing with them investment and jobs. We have continued to invest in our team to prepare us for ongoing growth in 2012 and beyond,” he said.

Among the firm’s biggest clients is supermarket chain Asda, which is expanding north of the Border.
