Stephen Scott lands top role at Raynesway

Raynesway Construction, the Paisley-based offshoot of Balfour Beatty's civil engineering arm, has appointed a new boss.

Stephen Scott joined the firm as a graduate civil engineer more than 20 years ago and has made his way up through the business before landing his most recent role as operations director.

He will bring a "wealth of experience" to the managing director's post, having had management responsibility in a range of civil engineering projects such as the design and construction of the complex Harthill footbridge over the M8 and maintenance of the M77

Scott says: "I am delighted to be appointed managing director of Raynesway Construction. I am also very much looking forward to working with our experienced team to continue to build the business's strong position throughout central and southern Scotland, working with existing customers and developing relationships with new customers."

John Chambers is taking over the role of operations director following Scott's promotion.

Banking giant HSBC has unveiled two senior hires in the north of Scotland as it continues to invest in its growth strategy across the country. Duncan Stewart and Roger Eddie both join the group's north of Scotland commercial team as senior commercial managers, based in Aberdeen and Inverness respectively.

Stewart has more than 22 years' experience in the banking sector and has held senior roles at both Bank of Scotland and Royal Bank of Scotland.

Eddie, meanwhile, can boast a 32-year career with Bank of Scotland where his roles have included director of corporate banking and, latterly, area director - relationship banking, real estate. Most recently, he spent two years with Highlands and Islands Enterprise as a senior development manager.
