Skyscanner to create 250 jobs

Travel search engine Skyscanner is seeking to double its workforce over the coming year as it ramps up its international growth plans.

The Edinburgh-based company employs 250 staff and said more than 150 of the new roles will be in Scotland, with the rest spread across Beijing, Miami and Singapore.

The growth plans were unveiled as Skyscanner signed a lease for a larger office at St Vincent Street in Glasgow, which will initially have space for 75 people. Existing staff at its West George Street office will start moving in later this year.

Chief operating officer Mark Logan said: “Our new Glasgow office is an important step for the business as we start a major recruitment push for the best talent across the Central Belt.”
