Sky High deal for traffic

Transport Scotland has awarded a three-year traffic data collection contract, believed to be worth a six-figure sum, to Yorkshire company Sky High.

Under the framework agreement, Tadcaster-based Sky High will provide the Scottish government agency with data to support its modelling for future transport policy and project appraisal.

Finance director Alex Johnson said the firm, which also has offices in Edinburgh and Glasgow, would carry out a wide range of services, including monitoring traffic flows and conducting roadside surveys. The value of the deal was not disclosed.

Its tender was submitted in partnership with international consultancy IBI Group, and it expects 80 per cent of the services will be delivered by Count On Us, the firm’s traffic survey division.
