Shortlist unveiled for SFE award

SCOTTISH Financial Enterprise has unveiled the shortlist for its annual award, with five institutions and former Scotsman executive editor Bill Jamieson battling it out for the top title.

SCOTTISH Financial Enterprise has unveiled the shortlist for its annual award, with five institutions and former Scotsman executive editor Bill Jamieson battling it out for the top title.

The award, for which The Scotsman is the media partner, is now in its third year.

SFE will present the honour at its annual dinner at the Thistle Hotel in Glasgow on 25 October, with BBC Radio Scotland’s Fred MacAulay hosting the dinner. This year’s shortlist consists of:

• Avaloq, a Swiss banking software firm

• The Chartered Banker Institute for its Chartered Banker Professional Standards Board

• Citi, which bought Scottish Friendly’s “wrap” platform

• Edinburgh Green Investment Bank (GIB) Group, which lobbied to bring the GIB to the city

• Bill Jamieson, the former executive editor of The Scotsman, for “providing expert commentary and analysis of the financial services industry over many years”

• Venture capital firm Scottish Equity Partners.
