The company, whose shoes are worn by music superstars such as Beyonce and Nicole Scherzinger, yesterday said its sales had leapt 18 per cent in the past four weeks compared with the same period last year.

The performance was boosted by a surge in the sale of boots, with Kurt Geiger saying it was on track to sell 150,000 pairs in December.

The company, which has 250 UK outlets and employs 2,500 staff, has also had great success with its B Series range of stilettos launched to mark its golden anniversary this year.

Each of these designs is named after a London street – from Mayfair’s Bond Street to the East End’s Britton Street.

Celebrities recently seen stepping out in style in these designs include Jessie J, Eva Mendes and Julia Roberts.

Kurt Geiger said online orders were also booming, up 90 per cent year-on-year. Last week the firm’s US owner, Jones Group, was bought by private equity firm Sycamore for $1.2billion.

One of Britain’s other big footwear retailers, Barratts, recently went into administration in difficult trading.
