Serviced offices on the increase

The number of serviced offices in Glasgow has more than doubled since 2007 and has grown by 50 per cent in Edinburgh as companies downsize their office spaces, new research has found.

There are 42 serviced office centres in Glasgow, up from 19 five years ago, according to Instant, an office space specialist. The number of serviced office centres rose from 26 to 39 in Edinburgh.

Patrick Elliott, chief executive of Instant, said: “Large corporate offices that would traditionally provide a desk for each employee are now reducing the amount of space that they occupy and embracing flexible working practices.”
