Royan takes helm at Hub North

Master butcher and public servant Jim Royan has been unveiled as the chairman of Hub North Scotland, the public-private partnership set up to deliver £435 million of community facilities over the next ten years.

Royan divides his time between running Scotland’s oldest family butcher business in Elgin and holding a string of offices such as director of City of Elgin Business Improvement District. He has also sat on the boards of NHS trusts and Highlands and Islands Enterprise.

He said his work in both the public and private sectors over several decades would stand him in good stead for the role.

Lawyer Dorothy Kellas is moving to Lindsays to head the firm’s East Lothian operation, based in North Berwick.

A specialist in asset protection and elderly care issues, she is also a supporter of charitable activity who has contributed her legal services to various organisations.

Until recently a partner in Morton Fraser, Kellas has tutored in conveyancing at the University of Edinburgh and was an early contributor to the Professional Competence Course run by the WS Society. She joins Lindsays as a partner.

One into ten

Fixed income funds expert Sonja Tilly is also on the move, joining Aberdeen Asset Management from Broadstone Pensions & Investments.

The CFA charter-holder will work as part of a ten-strong team that manages more than £8 billion in assets for a wide range of clients.

At Broadstone, Tilly was responsible for fixed income manager research and selection, covering traditional and absolute return strategies.

South to Signia

University of Glasgow graduate and Strathclyde Business School old boy Martin O’Hare has been unveiled as the managing director and head of investment solutions at Signia Wealth. He will be based in the London office and will report directly to founder and chief executive, Nathalie Dauriac-Stoebe.
