Richard Lambert quits Bank of England role

Former head of the CBI, Richard Lambert, is giving up the position he had been given on the Bank of England's interim financial policy committee.

Lambert was one of four external members of the committee named in February as part of efforts to overhaul regulation of the financial sector. "I have decided, with great regret, that I do not wish to take up my position," he said.
