Rates rise 'puts filling stations at risk'

FILLING stations south of the Border are at risk of closure because of "substantial" increases in proposed business rates, industry bodies have warned.

Industry insiders are concerned that decisions made by the Valuation Office Agency in England and Wales may influence the Scottish Assessors when they come to set rates north of the Border.
