Qatar fund debuts on main market

The Qatar Investment Fund began trading on the main market of the London Stock Exchange yesterday.

It invests mainly in Qatari equities, allowing international investors to participate in growth in one of the world's wealthiest countries on a per capita basis. The fund had been quoted on Aim, used for smaller companies, since 2007. Fund chairman David von Simson said the move would broaden the pool of potential investors.
