Pinnacle Telecom wins Olympic contract
Stirlingshire-based Pinnacle Telecom will transmit pictures and sound from the 22-storey Stratford broadcast tower on the edge of the Olympic park to television companies around the world. The deal also covers the Paralympic Games.
Alan Bonner, Pinnacle’s chief executive, said: “With an expected global television audience in excess of four billion viewers, the Olympic and Paralympic games is by far Pinnacle’s biggest single event to date and further demonstrates our capability to handle larger and more complex projects.”
Winning the Olympic contract builds on previous work for the BBC, including setting up networks for last year’s royal wedding, the Pope’s visit to the UK and the 2010 General Election.
