Optos moves to strengthen board

OPTOS, the Dunfermline-based eye-scanner maker, yesterday beefed up its board by naming two non-executive directors.

The firm has appointed John Goddard, former head of group strategic planning at drugs giant AstraZeneca, and David Wilson, currently deputy chief executive of Matrix Group's investment banking business and former chief executive of Piper Jaffray.

Chairman Peter Fellner said: "With John's in-depth understanding of the life sciences sector and David's extensive advisory and city expertise, they will together bring a wealth of knowledge."
