New protection director for Aegon UK
PENSIONS group Aegon UK has appointed a new protection director as part of a management overhaul at the business.
Dougy Grant, formerly director of retail strategy, will be responsible for proposition and distribution at the Edinburgh-based firm.
The move follows the departure of previous protection director John Wilkinson, who joined from Nationwide Building Society in June. Aegon is also planning to axe the post of protection distribution director, which has been held by Martin Williamson for almost eight years.
Aegon, which said on Thursday that its fourth-quarter profits had fallen 18 per cent on the back of lower sales and increased spending on technology, is creating six jobs at its protection business.
