Murgitroyd director buys his first shares

DAVID Gray, who was last month appointed as a non-executive director of Mugitroyd, bought his first shares in the Glasgow-based firm of patent and trademark attorneys on Friday.

Gray, who is also a non-executive director of both Scottish Water and Stirling-based insulation maker Superglass, paid just over £10,000 to buy 3,000 shares at 360p each.

Following the deal, Gray – who is chairman of the firm’s audit committee – will hold 0.04 per cent of Murgitroyd’s stock.

Last month Murgitroyd signalled its intention to expand in America by promoting US-based Edward Murgitroyd, son of executive chairman Ian, to the post of deputy chairman.
