Muir lands new tax post at Johnston Carmichael
Muir joins from “big four” practice Deloitte where she spent 15 years. In her new position, she will further develop Johnston Carmichael’s corporate and international tax offering, advising clients on funding, tax-efficient structures and tax risks associated with overseas expansion.
The Edinburgh office of property consultancy Strutt & Parker is taking on Malcolm Leslie as an associate partner to head up its country house department.

Hide AdLeslie began his career at the firm’s Chester office in 1999 where he worked for three years. He moved back to Edinburgh in 2002, working for law firm Brodies for two years before joining Savills in 2004, where he specialised in the sale of country houses in the Lothians and Borders areas.
He is said to have sold “some of Scotland’s most notable houses and significantly grew the company’s presence in East Lothian”.
Invoice finance provider Bibby Financial Services has bolstered its business development team with the appointment of Alan Anderson as head of sales for Scotland.
Franchise Development Services has hired Graham Angus as managing director of newly-launched FDS Scotland.
On Wednesday, FDS Scotland will run a free seminar, “How to Franchise”, at The Hilton, Glasgow, which will discuss how to turn an existing business into a franchise model. The seminar will also offer delegates the chance to book a one-to-one meeting to discuss potential opportunities.
