She joins Malcolm Hollis as architectural technologist, responsible for producing existing and proposed architectural designs for planning and building regulation approval. Commenting on Gunner’s appointment, Peter Martin, partner at Malcolm Hollis in Glasgow, said: “We are delighted to welcome Andrea, whose skills will greatly assist our measured surveys team. Law firm Maclay Murray & Spens has recruited business and white collar crime specialist James McMillan as an associate in its commercial dispute resolution department. He will join the firm’s well-established fraud, investigations and business crimes team led by accredited counter-fraud specialist Craig Kennedy. The team combines specialist input from a range of disciplines, including health and safety expert Malcolm Gunnyeon and cartel and bribery specialist Michael Dean.

Hide AdFraser Sime has been appointed as Bank of Scotland’s regional director, SME Banking Scotland, succeeding Graham Blair who became mortgage director for Bank of Scotland. Sime will take up his new role on 28 November and will report to Sharon Geoghegan, regional managing director, Scotland and East Region for SME Banking within Lloyds Banking Group. Sime will be based in Edinburgh and his remit will be exactly the same as held by Blair, leading Bank of Scotland’s commercial banking presence for SME customers in Scotland.
Rowan Dartington is expanding to Scotland with the appointment of investment manager Peter Roper in Edinburgh. He will be representing Rowan Dartington from St James’s Place offices in the Scottish capital, working directly with private clients in the region and offering various solutions to SJP Partners.
Legal firm Harper Macleod has strengthened its offering of both business and personal legal services with the promotion of two associates to partner. Stephen Chan has been made a partner in the corporate team while Alexis Miller makes the step up within the highly regarded family law practice. Chief executive Martin Darroch said: “These promotions are a perfect illustration of what the firm is all about.”
