Medical group agrees arthritis test deal

AXIS-SHIELD, the Dundee medical testing group, has signed a deal to offer its test for rheumatoid arthritis on a diagnostic platform offered by US group Bio-Rad.

Chief executive Ian Gilham said the availability of its anti-CCP test, a marker for rheumatoid arthritis, on the BioPlex system would help expand the market for its test "for this debilitating condition".

Axis-Shield already offers tests for rheumatoid arthritis on several other diagnostic platforms.
