Mecom's raid on Big Brother team

European media group Mecom has raided Big Brother producer Endemol to fill its vacant top job.

Tom Toumazis, currently chief commercial officer at Endemol, will become chief executive in August, replacing David Montgomery, who stood down in January.

Stephen Davidson, currently executive chairman, becomes non-executive chairman when Toumazis joins the firm.

Toumazis said: "It has considerable potential to develop its multi-media platforms and build strong digital revenues and I am excited to be given the opportunity to lead the company."

Toumazis is also chairman of the charity ChildLine.
