Marketing professionals across Scotland are being urged to aim higher and raise the bar of the industry as the 2016 Marketing Star Awards are open for entries.
New awards chair Paul Condron, marketing director of Tennent Caledonian Breweries UK, issued a call for entries to SMEs, large corporates, in-house teams, agencies, students and schools. Submissions from first time entrants are free of charge.
The Star Awards complement the vision of The Marketing Society which is to build a world leading marketing community in Scotland. Awards chair Paul Condron said: “This year’s theme is ‘Aim Higher.’ We know Scotland’s marketing community can rival the very best in the UK but we want to challenge marketers to continually raise their game.
“Creating outstanding Marketing isn’t easy - it takes innovation, talent, leadership skills and drive and marketers who combine all these factors develop a competitive edge and perform better.
“The Star Awards honour marketing success at every level, recognising the high quality of work being produced in Scotland across a range of sectors. Since SMEs represent a significant proportion of Scotland’s business community we’d love to see more entries from small and medium sized clients and agencies. Judges will be looking for robust evidence of their contribution to the growth of their business - work that changes attitudes, perceptions and directly affects the success of a brand or business.”
David Craik, Managing Director of Bright Signals and recipient of the 2015 Chairman’s Award for SME Agency added: “Our gongs at the Marketing Society Awards 2015 were a massive achievement for us at Bright Signals and although we’re a relatively smaller agency the success of these demonstrates that we’ve been recognised and rewarded just as much as some of the bigger guns on the line-up. We’d encourage anyone thinking of submitting an entry to go for it; and join us in celebrating and showcasing the brilliant impact that digital content can have and the very best of marketing in Scotland.”
The deadline for entries is 5pm on Friday 19 February 2016. There are five Star Award categories suitable for company, team and individual entries: development, strategic, communication, sector and champions. How to enter can be found at http://starawards.marketingsociety.com/
The awards are free for first time entries and open to both members and non-members of The Marketing Society.
