Mag deal: Swanify wins six-figure IPC app contract

A MOBILE phone software firm in Kirkcaldy has won a six-figure contract from publishing giant IPC to design apps for its magazines, which include InStyle, Look and Now, just a year after the company was founded.

Swanify, which was set up by managing director Matt Lanham, said the deal with IPC was its biggest to date and came on the back of work to create apps for Marie Claire and Golf Monthly magazines.

Lanham said: “Being appointed as IPC’s preferred app agency is fantastic. We can rapidly roll out apps for multiple IPC brands on every platform, accelerating its digital strategy.”

Swanify – which already lists tourist attraction Rosslyn Chapel and supermarket giant Tesco among its clients – creates apps using the HTML5 programming language and then translates them into coding for Apple, Android, Blackberry and Windows mobile phones, cutting development times.
