Low & Bonar starts search for new chief executive

Materials firm Low & Bonar, which has its roots in Dundee, has begun the search for a new boss after Steve Good announced he was retiring after more than four years in the role.

The news came as the firm said pre-tax profits for the year to November had almost trebled to £17.8 million, on revenues 5.9 per cent higher at £403.1m.

A final dividend of 1.75p a share was proposed, to be paid on 17 April, lifting the total payout for the year by 8.3 per cent to 2.6p.

Good, who has been with Low & Bonar for ten years, said: “The group is in great shape with exciting growth opportunities and this year is the right time for me to hand over to a successor to lead Low & Bonar on the next stage of its development.”
