The US company, which makes the F-22 fighter jet and U-2 spy plane, last month landed an IT contract with Nats, the UK’s air traffic control service, and its acquisition of Amor in September has boosted its presence in the North Sea oil and gas market.

Amor, which provides IT for the energy, public service and transport sectors, is to be rebranded under the Lockheed Martin banner and recently voiced its desire to grow its turnover to £250 million by 2016.

Former Amor chief operating officer Scott Leiper, who now heads up Lockheed’s civil and commercial operations in the UK, said: “With the Lockheed Martin brand supporting us across the world, we see no reason not to reach this target.”
