Livingston electronics firm sold in £4.5m deal

Private equity firm Maven Capital Partners has led the £4.5 million management buy-in of CB Technology, a Livingston-based electronics manufacturer.

The deal sees John Cameron, who was most recently commercial director at Finnish fire protection specialist Marioff, become managing director of CB, which will be chaired by oil and gas industry veteran Laurence Ormerod.

Cameron said: “Our business possesses unique expertise and skills, has an extremely strong reputation and we see huge potential for growth.”

Graham Scott, previously chief financial officer at security software firm Memex, has joined as finance director following the buy-in deal.

CB was founded in 1999 and Maven investment director David Milroy said the company “has consistently delivered and is clearly trusted by its customers”.

He added: “We believe the excellent team we have established can further leverage CB’s exceptional reputation to scale the business.”
