Law firm Morisons strengthens presence in Edinburgh

LAW firm Morisons is expanding its presence in Edinburgh with a move to larger premises and a number of new appointments.

The practice, which has 19 partners and around 100 staff, has relocated to offices in the capital’s Exchange District from its previous base in Queen Street.

Jacqueline McCluskey has joined from HBJ Gateley as a partner specialising in employment law, Rachel MacDonald has joined the family team from Thorley Stephenson and Vicky Baird has moved from Thompsons to join the personal injuries team.

Meanwhile, Lucy Gannon has been promoted to partner in the business team.

The firm, which also has offices in Glasgow, has grown through a series of acquisitions in recent years. Partner Robin Valentine said that the firm “wouldn’t rule out further acquisitions in the future if the right opportunity comes along”.

Earlier this week Harper Macleod announced plans to beef up its Edinburgh operations.
