Lasswade-based G2G3 Group acquired by Capita

CAPITA, the management systems company, has acquired Lasswade-based G2G3 Group, a firm which uses game thinking for training employees.

G2G3 has developed simulations for some of the world’s leading IT services management organisations, including HP, IBM and Microsoft.

It will become part of Capita’s justice and secure services division, continuing to develop simulations for global corporations, including the energy sector, as well as for the emergency services, justice, police and security industry.

Andy Parker, Capita’s joint chief operating officer, said: “This will add value to the range of services we supply to the justice and emergency services sector, particularly since the acquisition of the Fire Service College.

“G2G3’s expertise will allow us to simulate a large fire, a riot, a nuclear emergency or a terrorist attack, as part of the training we provide to senior police, ambulance and fire officers.

“But ‘gamification’ also has much wider applications in making training in traditional disciplines more effective.”

G2G3 has 26 employees. The size of the deal was not disclosed.

Capita employs about 4,000 in Scotland and 52,500 in the UK, Europe, India and South Africa.
