Kentz goes it alone as rivals walk away

Engineering group Kentz is to remain as a standalone entity after two suitors decided against making offers for the company.

The firm, which employs 14,500 people in 30 countries, had been the subject of a £690 million approach from rival Amec and a lower offer from German group M&W. Amec walked away on Thursday, and yesterday M&W confirmed it would not be making a bid.

Chief executive Christian Brown said: “We have a clear and realisable strategy in place that we believe will continue to deliver strong returns for our shareholders.”
