Johnston Press awards £10m contract

JOHNSTON Press, the Edinburgh-based publisher of The Scotsman, yesterday announced it had awarded a facilities management contract expected to be worth £10 million over the next three years to Johnson Service Group.

Johnson's facilities management division will deliver services to 185 Johnston Press sites in the UK and Ireland.

Meanwhile, Greenock-based BPI yesterday said Ian Russell, chairman of Johnston Press, is to become a non-executive director next month. Russell is also chairman of the advisory board for Swiss-based Advanced Power AG and of Remploy, a non-executive director of the Mercantile Trust and British Assets Trust and an adviser to Clyde Bergemann Power Group. He is also chairman of the campaign board for the University of Edinburgh.
