Therapie Clinic, the largest provider of laser hair removal and skin treatments in Northern Ireland, has a total of 15 clinics there and in the Republic of Ireland.

It has chosen Lothian Road, Edinburgh and St Vincent Street, Glasgow as the sites of its first foray into Scotland. “We’ve chosen Scotland because we’ve identified a gap in the market for a high quality treatment at an affordable price,” Katie McGlade, who along with her brother Phillip are directors of the business, said.

“Our plans are to expand further into Scotland and within the next three years into England.” McGlade acknowledged “there is a bit of education amongst consumers as to what laser hair removal is and how it can improve lifestye”.

Therapie said it was now “one of the most popular non-surgical treatments in the world”.
