Head to Skyscanner and make it snappy

RACHEL Armitage, product director at Edinburgh-based technology firm Skyscanner, is pictured with the world’s biggest quick response (QR) code, which staff at the company created as part of a 24-hour “hack day” challenge.

Smartphone users who ‘snap’ the QR code displayed in the firm’s office window in the capital have the chance to win free flights. Coding staff were encouraged to ‘flex their muscles’ at the firm’s annual hack day event involving 35 developers and ten product and marketing people. The code was constructed from Post-it notes.
