The firm’s Schiehallion lager and Bitter & Twisted golden ale are the first of its core range to be canned, adding to its existing offering of cask, keg and bottle. The cans have secured listings in 80 Tesco stores and 95 Sainsbury’s branches north of the Border, and are expected to roll out across the UK over the coming months.

Harviestoun’s move comes as the Clackmannanshire brewer toasts a 50 per cent rise in turnover since 2013, boosted by growing international demand in China, Europe and North America, coupled with distribution deals with D&D London, Gleneagles Hotel and Majestic Wine.

A recent £400,000 investment in new equipment has supported a doubling in production – to the equivalent of 4.5 million pints a year – while the creation of seven job jobs has taken the firm’s headcount to 21.

Our canning programme is a symbol of our commitment to asking ‘what next for craft beer?’ and creating an unforgettable drinking experience for beer lovers in the UK and beyond.

“The last 12 months have been an incredibly exciting period of growth for Harviestoun. During this time we have never lost sight of our commitment to consistency, flavour and quality, which is why we believe Harviestoun continues to grow in popularity.”
